Prof Rabih Bashroush (EC Lab Director) chaired two keynote panel discussions at the DCN event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday, 21st January 2025.

The first panel, titled “Empowering the Future: Advancing Data Centre Sustainability and Standards in Saudi Arabia”, brought together leaders from government, investment, and the data centre industry. The session explored the critical role of sustainability and standardization in shaping the future of Saudi Arabia’s data centre ecosystem, highlighting the importance of innovative practices and policies to drive progress.

The second panel, “Positioning Saudi Arabia as the Next Global Data Center Hub: Unveiling the Key Drivers of Demand and Investment”, focused on the strategic factors positioning Saudi Arabia as a leading global hub for data centre investment and innovation. Discussions centred on the growing demand for data centre infrastructure, the role of government initiatives, and the opportunities for international collaboration.

These panels sparked meaningful conversations about Saudi Arabia's rapidly expanding data centre ecosystem and its ambitions on the global stage. Prof Bashroush’s leadership in these discussions provided unique insights into the region's sustainable innovation and growth opportunities, offering valuable perspectives on the future of the industry.
